Andee's Home!

Heath & I have been waiting for this day for a long time -- the day our daughter leaves the hospital and comes home to our house! WELCOME HOME ANDEE JO!

(Andee is wearing the same outfit her Daddy wore when he was taken home from the hospital)

As we were leaving the hospital and driving for the first time with our little bundle, I realized that there is a big world out there and Heath & I have a big job - protect and nurture Andee so that she grows up with an open mind, a warm heart and has the best life we can possibly give to her. WOW, what a huge responsibility! We are ready for it though. We were both blessed with amazing parents, so we've had the best teachers to learn from.

The day we brought Andee home was so special, but also so very sad. My grandmother, Dada, passed away that morning. I like to think that it was a homecoming for both Andee & Dada. Unfortunately the 2 never had a chance to meet in person but Dada did get to see her picture. The nurse that was with Dada said that as she realized her time had come, she called out for my Mom and for Andee. She stuck around long enough to be able to say she was a Great-grandmother! I will miss my Dada dearly, but I know she is in a better place and will watch over Andee with loving eyes. The picture below is of a beautiful bouquet that was sent to Dada to congratulate her on being a Great-grandmother...it arrived the day she died, so fittingly the flowers were given to Andee instead. :)

Heath & I are overwhelmed with excitement, over flowing with love and bursting at the seams with happiness. The last week has been one of the best of our lives. Life is good...no, life is GREAT!
